Force/Acceleration/Displacement

Force, acceleration and displacement devices measure the motion of objects. Physical amounts are converted by sensors into signals that can be handled by machines and detected. Sensor types include position and angle sensors, acceleration sensors and force sensors. A position sensor measures the movement of the target. It is used for applications such as the positioning of robot arms and determining thicknesses in press processes. Typical types include induction types, magnetoresistive types and electric field detection types. An acceleration sensor can measure the acceleration of a traveling vehicle. Some types are compact and lightweight with excellent static and dynamic characteristics, and can detect simultaneously in the x, y and z directions. A force sensor can be used to monitor the crimping force of cable terminals and the axial force of bolt tightening. Some types are compact yet can measure large loads.
