Surge Protection

Surge protection parts prevent device malfunction or failure caused by instantaneous and abnormally high voltage generation that results in overcurrent flowing to electrical equipment or electronic devices. Surge protection parts need to be selected based on 2 factors "the type of surge that may occur" and "the type of device to be protected." Surge types include a direct lightning strike surge, dielectric lightning surge, switching surge and load dump surge. To protect electrical equipment such as PCs at a worksite from lightning surges, measures must be taken not only for power supply systems, but also for telephone lines and communication networks. To prevent interference with work, some devices offer surge protection while both the power supply and network are connected.
