Coated Rod for Soft Steel to 550 MPa Grade Steel B-17【1-4 Pieces Per Package】

Coated Rod for Soft Steel to 550 MPa Grade Steel B-17
It is used for the welding of general structures on vehicles, and in construction. Suitable for protruding and fillet welding of thin sheets around 20 mm or less. Provides stable slag covering for flat welding and beautiful, glossy beads. Even greater weld permeation in high titanium oxides and lime titania which is suitable for welded joints and even thin plates that require ample welding permeation.

Basic information

Product Type Welding rod JIS Standard Z3211 E4319 AWS Standard A5.1 E6019 Applicable
Compatible Material Type For all positions Application and Usage Characteristic Structural welding for shipbuilding, construction and machinery, etc. Crack resistance, pit resistance, and X-ray performance are the best among similar rods. Most trusted and has been used for the longest amount of time. Provides deep penetration and excellent slag peeling; most suitable for welding of about 20 mm or less. Main Points of Work Excessive current reduces X-ray performance and is the reason for degradation of workability. Hence, use the appropriate current range. Due to excessive absorption of moisture, besides deterioration of workability, pits may also occur. Hence, dehydrate at 70 to 100°C for 30 to 60 minutes. Due to excessive drying (for long period or high temperature), the penetration decreases, X-ray performance deteriorates and causes burning of the bar, even though there is no apparent change in quality. For medium and thick welding, adopt appropriate preheating / inter-path temperature.
