A Torx wrench is a wrench that is compatible with Torx screws, which have hexagonal star-shaped screw heads. Torx screws feature strong engagement between screwdriver and screw, enabling the screw to be turned stably. Shapes are T-type with a recess in the screw and E-type with a protrusion, and each uses its own dedicated wrench. They are used to prevent tampering as they cannot be used with cross-head / straight-slot screwdrivers, but tamper-proof screws with a protrusion at the center of the hexagonal star shape can only be used with a dedicated Torx wrench. Some products are easy to carry, being folding types with a variety of sizes combined in one or with a dedicated holder, are screwdriver types that make it easier to reach narrow parts, or are bit type for use attached to electric tools.
The basic shape of the Hexalobular screw consists of 6 ear lobe-shaped curves, which eliminate stress concentration, provide efficient torque transmission, and tighten well even with a shallow fit.
